Dept. Of Health Reports 276 New Deaths Due To COVID-19

On April 19, the Department of Health reported 276 more Pennsylvanians have died from COVID-19 bringing the total number of deaths to 1,112.
The dramatic increase was largely the result of reconciling information from several sources and validating that information.
As of 12:00 a.m. April 19, there were 1,215 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 32,284 in all 67 counties.
There are 126,570 patients who have tested negative to date. Of the patients who have tested positive to date the age breakdown is as follows:
-- Less than 1 percent are aged 0-4;
-- Nearly 1 percent are aged 5-12;
-- Nearly 1 percent are aged 13-18;
-- 6 percent percent are aged 19-24;
-- 39 percent are aged 25-49;
-- 28 percent are aged 50-64; and
-- Nearly 24 percent are aged 65 or older.
Most of the patients hospitalized are aged 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. There have been no pediatric deaths to date. More data is available here.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 4,450 resident cases of COVID-19, and 479 cases among employees, for a total of 4,929 at 368 distinct facilities in 35 counties.
