Wolf Vetoes Bills On State Debt, Price Gouging, Ag Education Program

Gov. Wolf vetoed three more bills on Wednesday that would, he said, have limited the state’s flexibility to restructure its debt (House Bill 83 (Turzai-R-Allegheny), changed when price gouging restrictions apply during a declared emergency (Senate Bill 1172 (Vulakovich-R- Allegheny) and remove an authorization for an agricultural career education program (House Bill 2157 (Grove-R-York)).  Read more here.
House Speaker Mike Turzai called the Governor’s veto of his debt bill “egregious.”  Read more here.
Last week, Gov. Wolf vetoed House Bill 2138 (Dowling-R-Fayette) that would impose a work requirement for individuals receiving Medicaid assistance.
